The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in 1998 with an intake of 60 and subsequently, the intake was enhanced to 90 from the academic year 2007-2008. The department is headed by Mr. D. Raghu, Professor with an experience of 10 years. Department has a three-sided mission: to create knowledge, to disseminate knowledge, to impart and instruct knowledge. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering strives for excellence in creating, applying, and imparting knowledge in Computer Science & Engineering through comprehensive educational programs, research in collaboration with industry and dissemination through scholarly publications. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is renowned for cutting edge research and for imparting state of the art education. The Department offers a stimulating and well-supported research and teaching environment. The Department has experienced significant growth in the decade. The Department has well qualified, dedicated, co-operative and experienced faculties with various relevant specializations to compete with the current industry standards. On the educational front, we place top-flight researchers in the classroom with our graduate students. Our department act as a contact sport, with sufficient classrooms, well equipped laboratories with internet facilities through leased line and satellite link, its own library with 350 different volumes of books, informed faculty and myriad opportunities for students and faculty to interact. On the subject of service, our faculty members serve on professional committees, advise on technology issues, and take advocacy roles to support the students in various activities. Our faculty members focus on students reasoning and problem solving potentials rather than only on basic skills. The Guest lectures by eminent professors & Technologist are arranged on regular basis to enrich the student knowledge and skills. Faculty periodically publishes their work in National and International Journals and Conferences. Many of our students are placed and playing a vital / major roles MNC’s. We sincerely strive to develop proactive, enterprising students with an intent to learn and eagerness to excel. We emphasize and encourage innovation, creativity entrepreneurship, positive interdependence, team spirit and productivity in human endeavors. The Department strives to develop long term associations with Industries and promote the Student's Talent effectively. The Students are thus provided high level 'Leads and Pathways' that enable them to gain access to a broad range of 'high potential' and 'hi-tech' Career Opportunities. The Department also offers several attractive industry-sponsored Fellowships for outstanding students. Short range Goals: . To have linkages with industry for training & placement, projects and curriculum management. . To inculcate professional behavior in students through seminars, mock interviews etc. . Improve placement opportunities for students. . To use modern teaching aids and develop special labs. . To develop research oriented work culture among faculty and students. . To conduct national and international Conferences, workshops, seminars and paper contests. . To get accredited by NAAC . Develop an exclusive R&D Centre in the Department. Facilities: A separate internet lab with 2 Mbps bandwidth is provided to staffs and students. Around 60 dedicated systems are available for students to browse the internet. The department takes active role in arranging expert lectures as well as Industrial visits for benefit of the students. Students are encouraged to take up industrial projects. Moreover the students will also be motivated to present papers in student seminars, paper contests etc. Staffs are motivated to present paper in International and National conferences and workshops. The department has dedicated Research lab, SeminarHall and E Classroom.
